Engineering Test Equipment

Servohydraulic test facilities

The following servohydraulic machines are available. The maximum amplitude, load and frequency are indicated. Note however that the maximum amplitude can only be used at low frequencies and conversely, high frequencies can only be achieved at small amplitude.

·       Servotest ± 50mm 5kN 50Hz

·       Schenck (VH7) ± 10mm 7kN 1000Hz

·       Dartec ± 150mm 100kN 40Hz

·       Schenck (POZ) ± 50mm 2500kN 40Hz

·       Displacement or load control

·       All machines operate in tension and compression

·       Computer control with full data logging

·       Data analysis including FFT spectrum analysis

·       Environmental cabinets

Biaxial testing

For combined compression and shear testing of structural bearings and other components, POZ Schenck can be fitted with:

·       ± 150mm stroke 100kN lateral servohydraulic actuator

·       ± 200mm stroke 400kN lateral quasistatic hydraulic ram

·       Custom built biaxial load cell, 500kN vertical 150kN shear

Other test facilities

·       Zwick (1474) 100kN screw driven test machine

·       Instron screw-driven test machines 5kN capacity

·       Gabo Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Spectrometer

·       Ling Dynamics electromagnetic shakers

·       3.5m x 2.0m heavy duty T-slot bedplate

·       Equipment for purpose-built test arrangements
